Regular physical activity can help alleviate back pain. Unless you are dealing with a serious injury, exercise is a sure fire way to bring down swelling and ease muscle tension.
Whenever lifting heavy objects be mindful of your form. Bend at your knees, not at your back. Also, avoid twisting your body while lifting and, if possible, push—don’t pull—heavy objects.
If you spend large parts of your day seated, find a chair with a straight back and sit up straight with your shoulders back. Bend your knees at a right angle and keep your knees even or slightly higher than your hips.
